The starting point for Sonia Kacem's research is the memory of the female body draped in flowing cloths and fabrics. The ceramic works created for the Artisti per Frescobaldi Prize recreate draping fabrics intended to gather energy, recalling the dynamism of Umberto Boccioni's futurist sculptures as well as Morris's Felt Works. In Kacem's work, the reference to Tuscany is linked to traditional crockery, which, since the Middle Ages, has been made with basic shapes and natural-coloured earth.
